Oil, Spray Paint, Markers, Ink Pens, Charcoal, Glue & Collage (Comic Book Cut-Outs, Empty Pill Capsules & Glitter Stars) on Canvas.

I have worked on this piece off and on for the last 2 years. It's a mixed media piece really, but I categorized it as a painting. This painting deals with the subject matter of ectasy in all it's forms (Spiritual, sexual, artificial, etc.). I've been in love with comic books since I was a child. And lately, being influenced by pop art everywhere, I used comics to create this pop surrealism piece. Viewing it here doesn't do it justice. The surface has so many different aspects, it doesn't do it justice for the digital camera. But I still hope you enjoy!

Nice mixed media painting! Its refreshing to see some real, traditional, pop surrealism on DA! I too have loved comics since I was a child. Love the swanky title, and genuine concept. Honestly, I think this peice deserves more love than it has now, it's sad how most of deviantart is just filled with people who say they love art yet only admire the fan art only, :| (end rant lol)

Anyways, I love this peice...it just screams to me. Plus I love comic books and surrealisim as well.

Those are some very kind words, and the nicest thing anyone has said about this piece. If this piece ever finds an owner, I hope it's someone like you, or feels the same way as you do.

I agree that many of the daily deviants or art fans tend to favor work that's more of a popularity contest, and not on merit, originality, creativity, etc. But hey, that's life in many ways.

Seems we have much in common in the way of taste in art. Comics have always opened dimensional doors for my mind. And is part of who I am. Good art does this to you, and is the reason I do it.

And yes, it's the unfourtanate truth, there's so many art peices on here that need alot more love than they deserve.
Yeah, I'm pretty diverse when it comes to art appretiation and very open to new Ideas techniques and ect. Either way I agree with you
